About this site

Hi, I'm Gábor Berei, a data professional from Budapest.

On DataDiner, I write about the topics that actually move the needle: retention, engagement, monetisation, and growth. I create articles, videos, and hands-on resources — including online courses and AI-powered analytics tools.

Why DataDiner?

Most growth content out there explains the frameworks but stops before the code. You've probably felt it — you watch a video, read an article, and the first thing you want to do is see how that chart looks with your own data.

Here, you get both: the concepts and the implementation.

Everything is tool-agnostic by design. Because the implementation runs through AI — specifically Claude Code — it can generate Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, presentations, or whatever fits your workflow. You don't need a specific tech stack or any technical setup. You bring the problem, and you walk away with something you can actually use.

We're living through an era where AI means almost anything can be built — faster and with fewer barriers than ever before. That makes the most important question not how to build, but what to build. Answering that well requires a holistic, systematic approach: knowing which questions are worth asking in the first place. DataDiner is here to help you develop that instinct — so you always know what to analyse, what to build, and what questions to bring to your data.

Who is this for?

If you're at a startup where decisions still rely on gut feeling, spreadsheets someone built six months ago, or whoever talks loudest in the room — you're in the right place.

Most startups aren't data-driven yet. That's not a failure — it's just where the journey starts. The reality is that every company sits somewhere on the data maturity spectrum, from Data-Exploring (where the highest-paid person's opinion wins) all the way to Data-Transformed (where KPIs are predictable and insights are automated).

DataDiner is built for the people trying to move their company one step forward on that spectrum — whether that means running your first real experiment, setting up self-service analytics, or embedding data into how your team actually operates.

You'll get the most out of this if you're a founder, product manager, analyst, or growth lead at an early-stage company who knows data should be driving decisions — but isn't sure where to start or how to actually implement it.

What's next

I'm currently building the Retention Course — a deep dive into measuring and improving retention for SaaS products, complete with ready-to-use code and dashboards.

Stay tuned!
